About Us

Consilience Research Foundation (CRF) is an independent, multidisciplinary research organization dedicated to bridging the gap between research, policy, technology, and sustainable development.

CRF was founded on a simple but urgent observation: too often, good research never reaches the people and institutions who need it. Academia, government, and industry work in silos; young researchers struggle to find mentorship and platforms; and environmental innovation lacks the institutional support it deserves. CRF was created to change that — as a research institute, consulting organization, think tank, and capacity-building platform, all under one roof.

Registered as a Section 8 (non-profit) company in India, CRF operates with the credibility, governance, and long-term sustainability needed to work at the intersection of science and society. We are deliberately multidisciplinary, working across environmental engineering, climate change, circular economy, solid waste management, water resources, ESG, sustainability, public policy, artificial intelligence, GIS and remote sensing, and data analytics.

What we do

• Research — Conducting rigorous, evidence-based studies on the environmental and sustainability challenges shaping our world.

• Consulting — Supporting governments, industry, and institutions with policy formulation, technical assistance, impact assessments, monitoring and evaluation, and ESG reporting.

• Capacity Building — Mentoring the next generation of researchers through our structured internship and fellowship programmes, designed to develop skills, encourage publication, and open pathways into research careers.

• Knowledge Creation — Translating research into actionable insight for policymakers, industry, and communities.

Our vision

We believe research should not stay confined to journals — it should shape policy, guide implementation, and drive real-world impact. What began as an idea grounded in geo-environmental engineering has grown into a platform built to serve science, policy, and people together.

Though headquartered in India, CRF's ambitions are global. We are steadily building a network of country representatives, university chapters, and research partnerships across Asia, Africa, and beyond — working toward our long-term vision of becoming a globally respected, financially sustainable research and policy institution, in the tradition of organizations like WRI, TERI, and IIED.
